He turned his attention exclusively to temples and deities on the advice of chandrasekarendra saraswathi paramacharya of kanchi kamakoti peetham. He was working in ananda vikatan from 1945 to 1967 as artist. Artist silpi follows the canons of art as well as those described in the vishnudharmottara that define the rules of divine painting as put down by sage agastya himself.
